In 2025 Jo Capstick was approached to support a crochet wellbeing group in Ordsall and COMMON CLOTH CIC was born. But the story started long before that with a powerful textile heritage and a desire to explore sustainable, local means of production based around the principles of commoning.

Today, Common Cloth CIC uses fibre-crafts, alongside flax and natural dye plant growing as well as urban foraging, to recover lost or forgotten knowledge and resources. We are dedicated to fostering wellbeing, community cohesion and a liveable future for our families and communities.
